Lugano, Switzerland is the principal city of Switzerland’s southernmost Italian-speaking canton of Ticino. It is situated on Lake Lugano, which links Switzerland and Italy. With its location on the border, Lugano is a cultural hub, and a mixture of English, French, German, and the city's native Italian can be heard through the streets.It is home to 2 concert halls, great museums such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Cantonal Museum of Art and Architecture, and a variety of shops and restaurants. 
Accommodation at Franklin College is provided to students as an opportunity to experience the challenges and rewards of being on their own. Accommodation is located in 10 different buildings either on or near campus, and is available in furnished rooms and apartments (many with their own bathroom and kitchenettes) or traditional-style residence hall rooms. Each residence is supported by a trained Resident Assistant who is there to help students with any accommodation issues they may have.
