Bournemouth and Poole are situated on the south coast of England, two hours from London, and offer convenient road, rail and airport links.
Bournemouth is a long-established tourist destination and attracts visitors from all over the UK and beyond. Famous for its 12 kilometres of sandy beaches, beautiful parks and gardens and a cosmopolitan atmosphere, Bournemouth blends a traditional British seaside resort with a busy and thriving town.
Neighbouring Poole is a bustling harbour town, which boasts Europe's largest natural harbour. A short distance away, the landscape changes dramatically – from the rolling hills of the Purbecks to the wide expanses of the New Forest – offering much to see and do!
Bournemouth University is located on two campuses:
- Talbot Campus is situated just outside the centre of Bournemouth and is our largest centre, home to the majority of our Academic Schools, the Sports & Recreation Centre and Student Village
- Lansdowne Campus is based near the centre of Bournemouth and is home to the School of Health & Social Care, along with some of our halls of residences.

For students, going to university will mean living away from home for the first time in their lifes. That's why Bournemouth University offers a range of accommodation, close to the campuses, local amenities and public transport routes, to make the transition an easy one.
All of the accommodation options are within a few miles of the Talbot and Lansdowne campuses and thriving social life. Safety is an important priority, and some of the accommodation options have resident staff on site. The Talbot and Lansdowne campuses are two miles apart.
The Residential Services team expect to offer accommodation to all first year students in a range of University and Privately managed halls of residence, University Managed private houses and in other private accommodation. There are Halls places for around 70% of the 1st year undergraduate students (2000 rooms).
