Description of BA/BSc Combined Awards
The
BA/BSc Combined Awards
degree will be in two subjects; students will start by studying both subjects in equal depth, choosing two modules from each of their subjects in Year 1; Students will also have two 'elective' modules in Year 1, that they can choose from either of their two main subjects - or, if they wish, they can choose to study elective modules in something different from the Modular Scheme; From Year 2 onwards students can choose whether to follow a Joint route or a Major/Minor route (depending on whether or not they want to concentrate more on one subject).
The final award when students graduate from the
BA/BSc Combined Awards
programme will reflect the weighting they have given to their subjects. For example, a joint combination of Cultural Studies and History will give students a BA (Hons) Cultural Studies and History; a Major/Minor combination of Geography and Sociology will give them a BSc (Hons) Geography with Sociology.

Description of Bath Spa University
Welcome to Bath Spa University: A university proud of its top quality teaching!
Bath Spa University
is a fantastic place to study in the beautiful city of Bath just 1.5 hours from London. The campuses are probably the most beautiful in England and students love studying here (source: 2008 National Student Satisfaction Survey). The university is ranked in the top ten of the modern UK Universities (source: Sunday Times 2008). With 5500 students, 150 from overseas; the university is small enough to offer students a personal service.
Bath Spa University
offers pre-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in art and design, performing arts, education, humanities, business and management and many other subjects.
Bath Spa University
has been designated a Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), the only one in the UK for both Creativity & the Arts AND Enterprise & Employability.
Newton Park campus, where all courses and subjects except art and design are located, is a spectacular parkland estate. The campus has its own lakes, nature reserve, woods and farmland, along with numerous historic buildings. A frequent bus service takes students right into the city centre. There is a modern library, lecture theatres, laboratories and two performing arts venues. The Students’ Union (SU) houses a large bar and common room, a bookshop, stationery shop and general shop – which won a prize for best university shop in 2006.
At the Sion Hill campus, art and design working areas include graphic design studios; electronic media workshops; studios for art, textiles and sculpture; workshops for wood, etching, lithography and silkscreen; and photography darkrooms.

This was a great school and program. The professors not only had excellent academic credentials but substantial real world experience gained in senior positions. You were never a number at BSL....
